Gate was an entertaining twist on my favorite genre.  I love time-travel novels, and this story included faeries and their friends.  Their antics enlivened the tale; working at cross-purposes to one another and to the main characters.  If you want something a little different, give this book a try!

Steps back and forth in time in an unbelievable seamlessness

This book deals with historical Scottish warriors one of my favorite reading genres. The added bonus to this book is the time travel which was done amazingly well so one actually steps back and forth in time in an unbelievable seamlessness. I lived in Scotland and am of Scottish descent so I enjoyed her accurate description of the countryside, their customs and speech.

Laurie and Patrick's verbal sparing keeps you on your toes wondering what will become of these two very different people from different times. Ms Hamilton weaves a story of love and intrigue through out this entertaining book.

I love time-travel romances! I have just finished reading this fantastic Scottish tale JUST BEYOND THE GARDEN GATE, written by Dawn Marie Hamilton! It’s about a 21st century woman, named Laurie and a handsome highlander named Patrick, in a story set in the Scottish Highlands. It was fun to read, if you believe in magic and faeries, then this book is for you. Let yourself be carried away by her two charming characters and wonderful adventure. It’s cute to follow...Laurie, who lives in the present, is suddenly pushed back in time in front of a highlander! Twists and turns, ups and downs will make you follow their journey into the wild Highlands. The story has a touch of faeries and brownies, betrayal and trust. Also, a beautiful romance will be developed between Patrick and Laurie! It’s a sweet romantic tale, well written, because this author is a very descriptive writer. I recommend this book of the HIGHLAND GARDENS series; next book will be JUST ONCE IN A VERRA BLUE MOON, which will be Elspeth and Finn’s story.
