Okay, so I haven't read all the books in this series. I read one, but it really wasn't that great (Where He Ends, I Begin). The writing style was awkward and confusing much of the time, so I really didn't have high hopes for this book, but thought I'd give it a shot based on the reviews from other web sites. So glad I did!

This is written in first person which I normally don't like, but the internal monologue by Ben was hilarious. Even when he was being a complete douche, I couldn't help but love him. He is what made this book, 100%. Ben was real, a guy who is so terrified of not being who he thinks he should be that he makes some jerky moves along the way to finding out who he really is. He isn't perfect and his parents really drilled the bad stereotype of what being gay is into his head, so it took a lot of dumb and painful mistakes to get to accepting that he was gay.

Once that was accomplished, Ben jumped headfirst into his new life and in love with Micah. Some expected, but disappointing reactions from his parents, completely unexpected, but appreciated reactions from Micah's family, and loving family connections all come together to round out Ben's coming out in the best way.

Thus is definitely one of the better gay romances I have read. The sex was hot, the love was intense, the characters and interactions were real and I didn't ever want it to end. If you only ever read one book by this author or from this series, this should be it. This is going in my re-read pile for when I want a sweet, passionate, romantic comedy. 400+ pgs.
