A fun read! Darwin Winter has moved to St. Pete, Florida to find a “normal” life. This goal is thwarted when the homeless veteran she has befriended turns up dead. Darwin’s psychic connection with his orphaned dog, Karma, shows her that his death was not the suicide it appears to be. Her pursuit of her friend’s killer takes her on a wild tour of her new hometown that includes a tent city of homeless people, a posh penthouse with a to-die-for view and the dreamy eyes of a police detective. I hope we will be hearing more about this delightful heroine and her human and canine friends.

    more from this reviewer

I enjoyed this book and was surprised of who commited the crime

I enjoyed this book and was surprised of who commited the crime at the end. A very cute book. It touchs on the lives of homeless in Pirate City and things that can happen. Darwin, the pet physic detective is a compansionate person that never gives up. It also remided us of the un-dying love a pet shows when they "find" you.

    This one is a winner.

Escaping from a sheltered home life and a world were her family's unusual abilities make them different, Darwin opens a pet boutique with her dog groomer and friend, Sylvia. Her need to hide her ability to "read" traumatized pets gets more difficult soon after Darwin befriends Karma and his person Mad Dog, a homeless Gulf War vet. This talent leads Darwin in her search for the truth behind the murder of her new friend Mad Dog when Karma shares images with her that do not fit the official explanation of his death. Meet Will, the handsome detective, Frankie the homeless lottery winner turned flamboyant multimillionaire, Mac the unofficial leader of a homeless group, and Landon the handsome and mysterious magician.
I can't wait for more books in the Pet Psychic series.
