This book follows Lexi as she is dumped into the world of supernatural beings and finds she must embark on a quest that she doesn¿t want to go on. She is working at a strip club to help her work her way through college. She is not exactly a stripper but more of an exotic dancer.

I enjoyed the idea of this story. Going back to biblical times, The Defender has helped keep the Key of Solomon from falling into the hands of evil demons. It has now fallen on Lexi to be The Defender, but she is not interested in helping out. She really doesn¿t like most people or even humanity in general. She tries to fight the fallen angel, Mikos, about being a Defender, but he has a way of staring at her that makes her want to melt into his arms. She really doesn¿t want to melt ¿ does she?

Overall this was an enjoyable story. There were many myths, legends, and legendary creatures that were scattered throughout the story. The heat between Lexi and Mikos as they tried not to be attracted to each other was sizzling fun. I loved the Rocky minion and I would have loved to have even more of him in the story.

There were a few things that got under my skin, but that¿s just me. I didn¿t like that Lexi was working on her doctorate, yet worked in a strip club for money. With all that education, she couldn¿t find a better job? Lexi turning into a super ninja and, faster than the speed of light, comes from around Mikos, draws his sword, and fights with the bad guy. And finally ¿ it is one thing to have a kick-assitude, completely another to be bull headed and stupid. I felt many times that Lexi was on the stupid train. Gee there is a monster breaking down the door to get to me and but I am going to stand here and argue with you because you told me to run. Duh.

** Note **
I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review. I received no chocolate or any other compensation in exchange for my review.

Lexi Harrison has a lot going on in her life. She's trying to get a PhD and make enough money to survive by dancing. She's got it running fairly smoothly until one day a mysterious stranger gets under her skin in a major way while she's performing. After he comes to her rescue, she soon learns a lot about this man. Mikos is a fallen angel, and he's been sent to help Lexi realize her true destiny. Unfortunately Mikos has two major problems- Lexi isn't buying it, and Mikos is majorly attracted to her. That could be a huge issue for a fallen angel trying to get back into heaven. Lexi has her own problems in the form of a destiny she had no clue about. It's up to her to save all of humanity, but Lexi isn't so sure she cares. Now Mikos must convince her to do her part to save the world, all while keeping as distanced from her as possible. It's going to be an adventure of epic proportions, that's for sure.

This book is almost non-stop action. Sometimes I'd have to stop reading just to catch my breath! If you like lots of action then look no further. This book is also very adult and very sexy. You have to know when the main character is doing a belly dance with veils near the beginning of the book that things are going to be steamy. Lexi was a very strong character. She did not let anyone get anything past her. She was even brave enough to sass the Archangel Michael. That's pretty bold. Mikos is a very dashing fallen angel. He has an innate struggle with his attraction for Lexi and his need to get back to heaven. I found this to be rather moving. I really wanted Mikos to be able to get the best of both worlds. There were other fun characters as well, and the story is clearly left open for a sequel in the end. If you enjoy a lot of action, a little peril, and some major romancing, then this may be the book for you.
