Spell check anyone??

I don't expect much with 'light' novels like this. I read these to escape and just have some fun. I took both books in this series with me on a cruise last month. I found a few problems in the first book - a few misspelled words and grammatical errors... but I let it go. Then I started the 2nd book.. and within the first 10 pages, there were so many errors that it made it hard to read. I don't know if these books are transferred directly from their 'hard copy' form onto the nook or are retyped to move them onto the nook. Clearly there was a problem in editing somewhere. The amount of misspelled words was astounding to me... I have never read a book with so many errors. It made trying to read it difficult.. you go along and suddenly your eyes stop because the word is incorrect. Save your money and find a higher quality 'beach read' to spend your money on!

    Ugh

Ok, so Ms Halliday can write, but can someone PLEASE edit her??? I cannot recommend this series to anyone with the typos and grammatical mistakes in it. I realize she's her own editor, but please! It has to be her editing, because no self-respecting editor would ever put their name on something this horribly edited. Ugh. And let's let go of the Stephanie-wannabe-isms, okay? There's only one Janet Evanovich/Stephanie Plum and this just doesn't compare.

No offense to people who enjoy this genre, honestly: my preferre

No offense to people who enjoy this genre, honestly: my preferred sci-fi and spy thriller popcorn reading have conventions of their own that can be awfully silly, & have some very smart friends who love to indulge in "Chick Lit." It was an experiment on my part, & just not my cuppa, so this will sound harsh; sorry. The typos don't annoy me; they appear frequently in Nook books; I can tolerate them & be glad to support B&N. But was this really written by a female? I'm not much of a feminist, but 30 pages in, I felt ashamed--as a woman, a reader, on behalf of gay men, and as a former publishing exec... KiHH combines a group of 80s cliche sitcom characters, actions, and dialog with a plot of sorts. As sheer popcorn, at times it almost redeems itself, then yet another passage leaves me with that embarrassed/degraded feeling. A little surprised that review blurbs for this series from Booklist & PW were so passable. As industry review media they are not very demanding, but perhaps this sort of writing is standard for Chick Lit.

Comedy Mystery for a fun read

I received the 1st book in the series as a 'Free Friday' offering.
I enjoyed it so much that I purchased this one and will continue on with the next one in the series. If you like Sophie Kinsella books then you should like this one. I would say it is a great read if you want to read something light.
