    Shadowstar-leaders den

Underneath sunny rocks, there is a little cave. The cave is made by sunny rocks resting against another rock. The entrance is covered in moss. Inside is cool, and the floor is covered in soft grass. This is where the leader of Fearclan sleep.

    Thrilling

Hard to put down. Fast paced, edge of your seat book. Killing Fear was incredible if you love a good thriller with a hint of romance. Allison Brennan gives her readers a well written, chilling, hard to put down story. The characters were likable and the story was believable. The villain was scary enough to make you not want to read at night. Will and Robin were great together.

    Real Page Turner

This book was an excellent beach read. Will and Robin needed to sit down and talk from page one, but other than that, the plot line was exciting. I enjoy all her books and this one was especially good.

Killing Fear - Great Piece of Work

I look forward to reading more of this author's exciting and intensifying thrillers. This book held my attention from start to end. Try the book and if you truly are a mystery/thriller person, you will enjoy this one.

    What Happened?

After reading Brennan's previous books and enjoying all of them, I was excited for her new series to be published. However, this book is unlike her others in that it is boring, has poorly developed characters, and no suspense at all-romantic or otherwise. Maybe Ms. Brennan is burned out after churning out all her other books. She uses flashbooks, tries to develop tension with two characters who were once in love, and throws in a bad guy who is is totally unbelievable (he breaks out of Sing-Sing after an earthquake!). It doesn't work. The 'evil' person in this book isn't well developed either. I am probably not going to finish this book (I'm half way through), and before I buy her next I'll be sure to look at it before ordering.

    Couldn't put it down!!!

This is the first of her Prison Break trilogy. I could not put this down. It was great to have Cara Kincads partner Will Hooper front and center. I have read all of Allison Brennan's books and have loved them all. Her characters are believable. It was great to see Will finally find someone for himself and to also hear how some of her characters from the other books are doing, like Patrick is still in a coma and Conner and Julia are still together. I hope to hear more about the Kincade family in the rest of this trilogy.

    KILLING FEAR BY ALLISON BRENNAN

This is the first book in a new trilogy called ¿The Prison Break Series¿. ¿Killing Fear¿ is the first book I have read by this author but it definitely won¿t be the last. Seven years ago Robin McKenna had three of her friends murdered by Theodore Glenn. It is Robin¿s testimony that clinches his conviction and he swears revenge on her. Theodore Glenn escapes prison and Robin¿s nightmare truly begins. She has no doubt that Glenn will seek his revenge on her¿.. the question is how and when? I was very impressed with the intricacy of the plot and sub-plots that were carefully woven together for an unforeseeable conclusion. I thought the well-placed flashbacks really enhanced the suspense as well as allowed the reader to get up to date on the events that took place seven years before when the murders were actually committed. The reader can really sense Robin¿s frustration of wanting to live her life freely vs. her fear of being Glenn¿s next victim. Book 2 in this series, ¿Tempting Evil¿ will be released on 5-27-08 and Book 3 ¿Playing Dead¿ will be released on 9-30-08. Allison Brennan also has 2 other trilogies prior to this one.

This is an exciting serial killer cat and mouse game

Seven years ago club owner and exotic dancer Robin McKenna¿s testimony somewhat helped convict serial killer Theodore Glenn, who defended himself but could not overcome the DNA evidence at the murder scene. He and one other person know the forensic proof that caught him was not left at the scene by him someone probably the dumb detective framed him. That is if you can call a frame when he did commit the homicides. She assumed she would never see the vile psychopath who killed her roommate Anna ever again though he vowed vengeance against those who sent him to prison.--------- An earthquake shakes the Bay area damaging San Quentin. During the turmoil, Glenn escapes. He plans to kill those who convicted him. At the top of his list is Detective Will Hooper. Not only did the cop arrest him and probably framed him, he had the gall to have a tryst with Robin who Glenn believes belongs to the perfect man: him. In fact he considers each new homicide as a gift to Robin. . Glenn is obsessed with Robin and thrills to the pain each new murder causes her. Glenn even leaves several hints that Anna still lives after all this time. Robin and Will relook the evidence though they doubt Anna survived her ordeal, but they begin to think the possibility exists. Will knows that Robin is on Glenn¿s list so he must stop this maniac before anyone else dies.------------- This is an exciting serial killer cat and mouse game in which Glenn is as brilliant and amoral as a person can become as he only feels pleasure when he provides immense pain climaxing in the death of others. The story line is fast-paced once the triangle is set with his escape and never slows down as readers anticipate a final ¿perfect¿ confrontation. However before getting there Allison Brennan takes her audience through spins and twists that add tension to the strong suspense storyline.------------- Harriet Klausner
