Went Bananas For The Big Ape!
The novelization for the original 1933 film, 'King Kong' is an entertaining book that will keep the pages turning. Although it's very similar to the original film, I found it interesting and entertaining seeing the story on the written page. The plot is the same with Carl Denham, Jack Driscoll, and Ann Darrow going off to the southwest Pacific with a crew of men to make a movie. They get more than bargained for when they encounter the gigantic Kong and the prehistoric inhabitants of Skull Island. A great read, a real page turner. Probably influenced by Arthur Conan Doyle's 'The Lost World,' 'King Kong' is a story that will hold your interest. Delos Lovelace does a great job of translating the story of Kong to the written page. I recommend you read the book, get a feel for the original plot, and then see the movie!
