Set in the 1400's, Jenny and Royce's love is the kind of love that endures no matter the adversities they have to face to be with each other. Captive or not, Jenny comes to love her captor, kind of like PERFECT, which is another one of McNaughts that I fell in live with, (Contemporary).
Kidnapped from the Scottish abbey to be used as a weapon against her own father, Jennifer uses her quick wit to fight Royce, her captor. Their relationship is brought to an abrupt end when Jenny is rescued. Peace between the two countries does not extend to their new castle. Royce and Jenny must find each other all over again, before it becomes too late.
I love this format! Wonderful and exciting! Great summer read!!!

although i read this book in two days i would hardly call it a page turner. i was however intrigued, and it was interesting in parts, what i can't get over is that royce and jenny love eachother even though royce killed her brother. i just dont see a love story in this. i hated the way judith made royce kill a family memeber on accident. and then made it seem like it was ok? also i hated how again and again jenny made royce look like a fool. over all not one of my favorite books. this was the first book i read by judith mcnuaght and i wasn't impressed. although i am going to read another one of her books just to give her another chance.

    GREAT ENDING!!!!!!!

I love all judith mcnaught historical books she has of true love that has you angry ,falling over with laughter, and your heart aching with the tenderness of her characters. The kingdom of dreams is a great read .it was kind of preditable in the begining. But towards the end the plot really picked up.

    Enjoyable.

This was the first novel I've read by Ms. McNaught, and decided to try one of her books because she had the same editor as Ms. Julie Garwood-I needed a historical romance. This story was entertaining and made me laugh at various parts and scenes. Overall it was a good read except from the beginning to the end the two main characters-Jenny and Royce had such different personalities that I felt like I read two different stories all together.

    wonderfully written

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. This was my first Judith McNaught novel, and it got me hooked on her. Although the details can go over your head once and a while, you'll always go back to it. If you're interested in reading the whole Westmoreland Saga, I suggest reading this story first before Whitney, My Love, and Until You. It is easier to recognize details and it makes Whitney... that much more enjoyable. A definite book to keep on your shelf.

    truly a kingdom of romance

I read this book about four years ago and Judith McNaught is surely at the top my list...she will be the top of anyone's list if they ever read Kingdom of Dreams...my only disappointment is that Judith McNaught has stopped writing historical romance ...why? WHY? WHY?

    MARVELOUS!!!

A Kingdom of Dreams is an excellent book!! It has to be one of McNaught's best books ever(which says a lot right there)!! You can relate to the characters and understand what they're going through as if your going through the same thing!! I highly recommend it!!!!!

    TRULY BRILLIANT

After reading Whitney My Love I thought there would never be a book just as good. A Kindgom of Dreams proved me wrong. The characters are so powerful that they easily draw your attention just from being mentioned in another book (Whitney My Love). I especially loved the ending where Jennifer kneels in front of her husband and asks for his forgiveness. It was such a humble act that I almost cried. The best part about the book was that I was able to become a part of the story and actually feel the characters emotions.

A kingdom of dreams I can relate to...

This is a very feisty novel with characters you will love and the chivalry you had forgotten existed. For those who loved Kingdom of Dreams, and anyone who has read any other McNaught books know that Paradise and Whitney My Love are probably the most endearing love stories written in decades. The soul of both these novels lies in its poignant breath of longing and bittersweet love lost and gained again.
