This book didn't really stand out in any major way. I've read far more interesting books. Sure, it had a nice ending. It's important to note, though, the difference between the recommended ages (11-14) and the Accelerated Reader level of 4.7. Language and a couple of mentions of sex and dating might not be what the 4.7 level child needs to read. So, while it might be an interesting story, it's important to note the appropriateness.

    Amazing Book!!!!

I think this book is amazing. The main character is Katie and Lynn but at the end Lynn dies. Made me cry a little. But even though she dies the author made this book very good. If you were looking to purshace this book for nook or something else i stronlgy reccommend it.

    sweet and thoughtful

Kira-Kira is sweet, innocent and a truly hardened depiction of life. Dealing with consequences brings readers closer to the characters. -Teenreviews

    Kira-Kira

Kira-Kira is about two sisters named Katie and Lynne they live in Iowa with there parents. Kaite and Lynne and to move to Gerogia with there parents because they got offred a job. Then there family got there everyone was just stareing at them no one said anything. They didnt make any friends intil Lynne made a friend named Amber.Amber is nothing like Lynne Amber likes makeup, boys and hates camping on the other hand Lynne loves camping hates makeup, and boys.when Lynne started to hang out with Amber more and more Lynne changed she started to wear makeup and started to like boys and she didnt like camping anymore. Katie hates Amber because she changed Lynne and she thinks that amber is takeing Lynne away.

I give Kira-Kira 3 out of 5 stars because its a food book but it gets really boring. In the middle i wnated to pick a diffrent book out cause it was so boring but i kept reading and it got so much better. Most of the book made me want to keep reading . The part that I loved most is how the author picked such diffrent words to use in the book it made me feel like i was actully in the book. I recommend this book to 8 and older kids. You'll love this book!

    It was ok

If you are looking for a book that deals with a relationship between sisters... then it is great! I was assigned to read this book for its multicultural aspect. Here is when it's very disappoiting. It's very weak in describing racism and I can only recall three times when it happens.
