Good rough draft
Smirk: way over used and general...
Smirk: way over used and generally out of context for the situations the characters were in. After a while all my mind could picture were some badly constipated characters trying to smile, grimace, frown, wince, grin, or other facial expressions.
The language was stilted and rough, it didn't flow either in discription or dialog. Nobody speaks the way the autor wrote. Many times the author would start a scene that would have potential, then would slide back into a clipped sentence structure.
Again, while some ideas of the story line would begin with promise, the author did not follow through. It was as if he grew bored with a scene and wanted to skip ahead and expected readers to join him instead of guiding them. The biggest, but not the only, example of that is the last chapter. So the main characters run away and sometime between that and that last scene there was discussion and understanding? Missed some steps along the way!
Perhaps the most disappointing is that the author did not have any feelings for his characters. We were not properly introduced to the players in the story. There was nothing that gave a sense of connection and the ability to love, hate or understand. Not enough of any of the characters to identify with them and feel as if you, the reader, is a part of the story.
I would highly recommend the author invest in a good dictionary and thesaurus, then use them. Before plunking down a phrase that seems neat, research to make sure of the context and meaning. Read, then read your work again. Have an honest friend read it, not one who is afraid to hurt your feelings. Read it again. Read it aloud so you can taste the flow of the words.
This review is for other readers, but was mainly written because the author asked for feed back on his work. I hope it is helpful for him and wish him luck on future writings.

Good rough draft
While the idea of the story line was interesting, it was hard to stay on board with the author. I don't know if there was some sort of language barrior for the author to overcome, but reading was sometimes painful due to the tone used.

Almost Okay
Honestly was so tired of this book & read it just to get it over with. This writer just fails to have a "way with words". However, the story had potential. It just didn't reach it.

Loved
Although this book had many grammatical errors, the story line helps to take you away from the obvious new writing style of the author. I really enjoyed the unexpected adventures and fighting style of the family.

Wonderul
I really liked this book a great deal. I will read more from this author. I was surprised to find how good this story really was. The charactors are very strong. The story heart warming. I found myself rooting for this couple.

Unrealistic
The book felt unrealistic.....i mean yes money can buy lots of things but some if it was just...ugh.
Not to mention some of the stuff was pretty impossibke. I wont say what because I don't want to spoil but it was bad.
I kept sighing and yelling that it was ridiculous!!2 out of 2 people found this review helpful.

Just okay...
A lawyer quits in search of a girl he kissed on a bridge. He finds girl. Wade and annile take a walk, are told a storm's coming (cyclone) proceeds to take her up a radio tower for view of sunrise. Storm hits, big shocker and they stumble trying to get down. Hold out in a cave, hang glide back to town. Everyone happens to have a hang glider handy, yea right! make it back to town after storm, someone is trapped under a car from storm and she doesn't trust that he's really stuck, on christmas day even. Common sense? Stepfather after them keeps story going. Yacht issues at sea, should have been eaten by sharks. Make it to his home with trap doors. To sum it up, story not very believable, average person would have died getting down the tower. Not many emotions in this book.

Setting?
The author makes a big deal about this real life hurricane thats coming but then fails to do much with it. I was excited to read a book with a historical setting and thought I was going to learn something about Cyclone Tracy. I even did some reasearch because I'd never heard of it. But the author doesn't use this to enhance his story at all.
I agree with most of the poor reviews unfortunately. The characters were not only unbelievable but very unlikeable. Had they stayed in Darwin to help instead of running away....
And the ending was horrible. You don't build up your plot with all this drama and then not let your readers see how it was resolved! You can't take your villain and make us hate him but then suddenly he's this warm and loving and accepting father. Really?1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

Didn't meet my expectations
This book must not have had ANY editing; there are far too many misused words, poorly constructed sentences, typos (at least I assume they were typos), and unrealistic dialogue. Some of the adventure was fun to read, even if unbelievable. It was hard to relate to any of the characters.

Hated it
This book started out interesting but soon had so many weird twists and turns that I lost interest. The long and short of it is that this book was boring, horribly written and an utter waste of my time.
