    Absolute excellence

Great Book! It tells the amazing story of a disillusioned man who has to deal with a great tragedy.

There are some obvious twists, but finding how these twists play out is nice indeed.

    I Also Recommend:

    Another great book

This second book in the "Word and the Void" Trilogy contains a lot of character development and a sweet plot with a good bit of demon-fighting action! The trilogy begins a long and exciting journey into the Realm of Shannara and I've enjoyed reading how it all began.

    John Ross returns!

If you read RWTD and are looking for something good to read next, you'll probably want to read KOTW. If you are hoping that this book will be better than its previous volume, your dream has come true. RWTD was a little backtracking at times, however, this book has much fewer flashbacks. John Ross, Nest Freemark, Pick, the Lady, and some new characters are back in this exciting sequel. Buy it after you read RWTD or else.

one of the best books of our time

Terry brooks wrote this and of course it is very good but even though I loved it it cant compare to running with the demon this was a good mystery it was a little predictable but still it was very good and very hard to put down I loved this novel and luckily read running with the demon before it

    A Mediocre Fantasy

Terry Brooks took the fantastic premise he created with Running with the Demon and ruined it. The cast of characters in Seattle are no longer interesting or original; John Ross alone remains someone the reader actually cares about. Ross's coworkers, his devoted boss, his girlfriend, and Nest Freemark are all cardboard cutout characters who only serve to advance the plot. The shapeshifting demon who hunts Nest and is a mysterious 'someone' close to Ross is an archenemy who doesn't inspire fear. Halfway through the book, the novel degenerates into a poorly written whodunit as Ross and Nest desperately struggle to figure out who the demon is; it's obvious to the thinking reader before Nest and John even start searching. All in all, a poorly written work that only gets more than one star because John Ross remains an interesting character.

A wonderful blend of our world and the Mystical world of Faiery

I love stories that touch our own lives .I wonder - Could there really be a Knight Of The Word out there somewhere? How does our world keep in balance? Who champions the Helpless and Homeless. Prehaps there is an answer in this wonderful tale told by Terry Brooks.

    Okay book

Terry Brooks first book of this series was great, but the second one sort of sucked. But now he comes out with the ending and it makes up for the second book all together. As for the series goes it isn't as great as the Shannara or the Magic Kingdom series
