Excellent Fitting Guide for Knitters of all Sizes

Amy has written an outstanding book for knitters who want to take a pattern that they like and style it for their own shape and size. She has step by step instructions for determining what styles naturally look good on your body. The photos in the book are numerous and well done. The models are not all young and thin either - although some of them are, so it is a book for everyone who wants to figure out why some sweaters that you knit look great on you, and others are a disappointment. I highly recommend it!

Good knitting techniques but not a lot of solid information

Knit to flatter your figure? Yes, that's a good idea. The trouble is that Herzog really doesn't give a lot of solid information on proper measurements and fitting. These are wonderful patterns and the finished works look lovely on the very real women modeling them. But so little attention is paid to how these "knit to flatter" techniques are applied to other patterns. Herzog doesn't even get into the messy details of fitting a set-in sleeve, something that's important for a garment to look right as well as to fit properly. At any rate, it's a good first step and it will be amazing if most knitters really dig in to learn their measurements and how to knit to them.

A must have for ANY knitter!

Amy Herzog does an excellent job in taking the fear out of knitting garments for every body type. Great resource to have on your shelf. Highly recommended!
