Great book for bilingual students in the preschool classroom! Children need to learn in their first language before they can start learning to read/write/speak/understand English as a second language. I brought the board book and it is sturdy although small. But this is an advantage because I do not read it to the class as a whole. I typically have my students who speak Spanish gather around close to me, lap, sitting near lap type of set up. The book is good for children to look through on their own, as the holes and tabs make for easy page turning, and an interesting texture feel. It's important to get kids interested in books, and not just by reading them. The book teaches numbers, days of the week, and concepts such as change and the passing of time. As always Eric Carle does a beautiful job with illustrations, providing visual and stimulating concepts for the children. This book belongs in every classroom, bilingual or not.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

I used this book to teach foods in my high school Spanish I class. They loved it and actually paid more attention and showed more interest than I've ever seen from this group of students. It was great! Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
