Wonderful treatment of England's overlooked monarch
Nine Days Queen was my introduction to Lady Jane Grey and her phenomenal, albeit short!, life. She was one of the leading academics of her time, however she was subjected to daily verbal and physical abuse at the hands of her uncaring opportunistic parents. The one woman that could cultivate and nuture her talents was Katherine Parr who was essentially and adopted parent to the poor girl. Jane was a little woman content with her school books and Latin lessons who had no ambition to rule and was eventually killed due to her fathers, and not her, ambition. Please read this book as it provides good insight and factual study of the life of England's last monarch from the house of York. WARNING!!! DO NOT SEE THE MOVIE!!!Was this review helpful?
