I have read ALL of Tessa Dare's novels and love them! I checked

I have read ALL of Tessa Dare's novels and love them! I checked out some from my library and own all the Spindle Cove novels and novellas as well as the Werestag novella. You will not be dissapointed with any of her writings except that they end! I would like to find a "comparable" author because I just know Tessa's work to be the best for my tastes with the right amount of story, character development, setting, and spice. I was not actually a romance reader until I stumbled upon a free offering of one of her ebooks on my Nook. That was how I even found this genre and now am hooked!

I have always been a fan of period romance movies and am a stickler for anything set in the Victorian (or earlier) settings of Europe which all of her books are. I do have a few other free historical romances but I just know already I won't be as pleased. I wish Tessa would go full time just writing ONLY Spindle Cove series and that PBS or BBC would pick up the rights and make an ongoing romance seriers for TV that would be hot and heavy and for adult viewers but tasteful. Maybe Netflix??? Wouldn't that be incredible! LOL

Bascially to sum all this up do not worry one bit about purchasing any of her materials. You will love having them. I have read each of the Spindle Cove series twice and plan to re-read each once a year- Yes they are that good! I stay tuned for pre-orders and have always been on of the first to get a book as it comes out.

This third of the series - A Lady of Persuasion - picks up the story from Surrender of a Siren. It is stronger than Siren, but doesn't come up to the promise of number one, Goddess of the Hunt.

Sunny Sir Toby Aldridge has been quite honorable in that he has never contradicted Sophia's family's story of her disappearance to the ton. But he's still smarting from being jilted by Sophia and not knowing why. It's shaken his confidence as a successful rake, to say the least, and when he's forced to be polite and swallow his pride yet again at Lucy's ball honoring the Graysons, he's out for vengeance. This comes in the form of luscious, but prim, zealous social reformer Isabel Grayson whom Toby is determined to seduce and marry. The novel holds interest for its development of Toby's character who comes to life on the pages as more than a handsome fribble of the ton. Isabel has given him direction, and he will do anything for her - and does. But their love story is slight beneath the steamy scenes as is the slim parallel story of grieving widowed Joss Grayson and Hermione Osborne.

This direct sequel to the wonderful SURRENDER OF A SIREN is a terrific regency romance

Wealthy Isabel Grayson arrives in London from the West Indies. She has her choice of almost male member of the Ton, but is attracted to the rake Sir Tobias Aldridge.

Toby pretends he reciprocates, but instead is using Isabel as a pawn. He seeks vengeance on her brother Benedict for stealing his fiancée Sophia Hathaway (see SURRENDER OF A SIREN). His plan is to seduce and dump the sister of the man he loathes. She rejects his efforts as she will only marry someone who argues against injustice in House of Lords. As he falls in love Toby the rake vows to change in order to win Isabel.

This direct sequel to the wonderful SURRENDER OF A SIREN is a terrific regency romance that can stand alone as Tessa dare uses Toby's ire cleverly to tell the back story (see also GODDESS OF THE HUNT). Isabel is a super lead protagonist while Toby who was a key secondary player in the first two novels easily takes a lead role. Sub-genre fans will appreciate this strong trilogy as frivolous Toby finally gets what he deserves, A LADY OF PERSUASION.

Good author, always a good read

A story of a woman who tries to always be good, but maybe isn't as good as she'd like to be; and a man who tries to be bad, but isn't as bad as he'd like people to think. I always enjoy Tessa Dare's books, even when I read the synopsis and it leaves me kind of "meh". Her writing is amusing, her characters are interesting, and it's always a pleasantly spent couple of hours.

    Pretty good

Not the best of Tessa Dare books in my opinion, but still very romantic. Good read.

    highly recommend

What's better than a man wanting revenge, thinking he's in control of his emotions and the situation and ends up falling in love? Tobias' story of redemption ( he was jilted in Surrender of a Siren) kept me engaged from start to finish.

    HORRIBLE

I don't know what the lady before me was thinking. This book is horrible. This is the first book of Tessa Dare's that I have read. She makes you hate all the characters especially the women. Hello, who reads the romance novels, WOMEN. I LOVED Toby and thought he deserved so much better. He started off with a thought to use the sister but than realized she deserved better, by the 3rd chapter. Isabel didn't even give a thought to Toby or what he might want or even consider where he came from and how he thinks. She was only out for herself and her selfish wants of trying to change the world. I didn't even bother to finish this horrible book. This book is no romance book either.
