    Max 1?

This book, plus the first one, sounds sooo much like the Maximum Ride series, also by James Patterson. I haven't read this series, but I can tell you that after reading the Max Ride over 12 times, I still count them as several of my favorite books. I know exactly what happens, and yet it never bores me to tears. That takes skill. ;) I highly reccomend this author. He writes great suspense novels, including Witch and Wizard, which I also highly reccomend!

    I Also Recommend:

Great easy-read novel with romance, action, and drama.

I couldn't wait to dive into this book after reading "As the Wind Blows" and I was not disappointed. It was a thrilling and heart touching novel to conclude a great story. I really enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone.

    Suspenseful Science Fiction

James Patterson¿s book, The Lake House, was rather a surprise since I expected a gripping murder mystery and got a science fiction story about children with wings that could fly. Nevertheless, Patterson grabbed my attention early in the story, and by keeping the chapters short for easy reading and filling the pages with action-packed happenings and/or dialogue, he kept the story moving. While I am not a science fiction fan, the story was interesting enough to keep me reading. The resolution to the plot was a bit downsized¿an entire hospital and many workers were involved, yet, they weren¿t mentioned in the resolution¿only the man responsible. If you read this book you will be rewarded with a happy ending for the characters.

The Worst Book I've Ever Made Myself Finish

I loved When The Wind Blows and was excited to see this sequel. Unfortunately, it's not just disappointing but outright terrible. Between continuity errors(Icarus and Oz managing to switch ages, for one), child sex(they're twelve, which Patterson tries to cover by claiming they look eighteen - funny how they aged normally most of their lives but took a huge jump in aging when Patterson needed some kiddie-lovin'), and plot points that seem to have popped up in the wrong book, this is one worth missing. Patterson has lost his touch.

    Very disappointing!

What was he thinking?? J.P.'s books are generally real page turners. I usually finish them in 2 evenings because I can't put them down. This book was very bazaar. I hated it.

    Readers pleasure

This book begins exactly where the last one left off. I was involved form the start. James Patterson can get you so involved with his words that you see in your minds eye just what he is relaying. I can picture the "winged" children just as clear as if I was there. The best writers have that knack of drawing you in so you can't but their books down.

    The Lake House

This was an offbeat book. It was an interesting read and a little weird. I can't say that I enjoyed it as much as I have enjoyed some of James Patterson's other books. It was ok.

    didn't keep my interest...

I thought The Lake House, sequel to When the Wind Blows, was a mediocre book. The plot was kind of interesting but not all that different from When the Wind Blows. The kids, along with Frannie and Kit, are being chased again. This time, instead of being chased by people from The School, they are being chased by people from The Hospital. The thing that annoyed me most about this book, and a little with the first book as well, was the use of such corny dialogue from the kids. Overall, this wasn't a bad book, it just didn't keep my interest like When the Wind Blows.

    FREAKIN HORRIBLE

OMG!!!!! i read "when the wind blows" and thought it was fantastic! but this book... horrible. James doesn't keep the same plot through the story, puts one thing then goes on and the story continues like it didn't happen. and the ending was absolutly FRIGGEN GAY. i mean my god it absolutly sucked!!!!!!!! the whole book was boring and lame

    The Extraordinary Six

Ever thought about having wings, super strength or having people want to be you? The book The Lake House has to do with all. The author of this book is James Patterson. James Patterson usually rights about crime novels but the lake house is a classic. Flying kids and cloning kids what is there not to read.
This book, The Lake House tells the story of six extraordinary kids, undergoing power to fly after some genetic engineering merged their DNA with DNA a bird would have. These kids have to fight for there lives against scientists who would like to clone them for there own. They have the help of frannie, a veterinarian, and kit, a FBI agent. in the story max and her sibling¿s escape from a mad laboratory called the hospital. Max flies into Frannie O¿Neill¿s store and frannie takes her in and the others in as her own kids.
When max and the others got there max was all cut up, luckily Fannies¿ knew just what to do. After frannie gets max cleaned up she takes them to find out who there mothers are, which ends her up in court for the kids. As frannie and the parents are going to court the kids are devastated because they¿ve never seen there parents before and just like birds once they open there eyes on someone they instantly become there mother and that¿s what they see frannie and kit as. Max and the siblings go up to the top of the courthouse and start to fly because they only feel save when they flying together or as a family and ass things are going they don¿t think they will be a family anymore.
The court hearing got over and the judge told frannie and kit that since the kids aren¿t biologically there¿s they can¿t have them. The flock got separated into different towns and that¿s when all the trouble started to happen
James Patterson really made me like his books more. And I think you would like it too.

    Excellent book

I enjoyed this book very much! I'm so happy for Max and her 'family' this book is a page turner. I am currently reading Maximum Ride: The Angel experiment and I'm kinda mad that it doesn't continue with the same group of kids but the suspense is still there

    very good

Befor I read the first book When The Wind Blows, I really didn't think I would like the book, it sounded kind of strange. But it was real interesting , I read it in about 2 days. This is the sequel and it is also very good. I really love all of the charaters, the (kids) are just so cute. If you like to read about medical experiments and things that might be possible in the future (or not) , go ahead and read this book.

The Lake House: One Turkey That Does Not Fly.

Possibly one of the worst books I've ever read!!! In fact it was so bad I could not put it down as the steadily deteriorating plot, wonderfully unbelievable characters and banal use of language kept me in stitches!!! Could someone please send me Patterson's address so I can post him a thersaurus!!! It might also be an idea to sneak up to his computer and remove the 'exclamation mark' key!!! If an author can't write a sentence using words to express surprise and shock then an exclamation mark is not really going to help much!!!! Still, you have to admire the guys guts in publishing the Lake House - he had a dream to cash in with this sequel no matter what the personal cost. I think part of the problem was that Patterson was not really sure who his target auidence was going to be - teenagers or adults - and so the novel flipflops between gushing adolescent sentimentality and daytime TV melodrama. Patterson wanted to write 'page turners' but with 'The Lake House' he has managed a 'page burner'.
