    LOveswept Re-Issue ~ Yum!

Thanks to the publisher, Random house Publishing Group, and NetGalley for the chance to read this!

Ms. Leabo did an excellent job creating a truly believable story of second chance and long lost love. This story is an excellent example of capturing the heart of the story without all the unnecessary fluff. The heroine did grate on my nerves a little; she was a little too innocent, naive and immature. As a teenager you can expect that kind of stuff – however, her character never seemed to develop further. Sloan came from humble beginnings, and alcoholic parents. Sloan & Lana are a very appealing couple -- their history added a rich element to their love story. Neither had forgotten the other.

    I loved the fortune-teller bits!

I genuinely enjoyed this book. It was my first introduction to the author. It was by some standards a simple story. If you’re looking for big action or deep profound moments this isn't for you. But it was fun, touching, and sexy!

Disclosure: This ebook was provided to me free of charge through NetGalley for the sole purpose of an honest review. All thoughts, comments, and ratings are my own.

    Re-issue

This is a re-issue from nearly 20 years ago (1997) not written in 2012. This story had great potential but Lana was so totally annoying to the point of being unlikable, grow up and quit being so immature. I had to make myself finish reading the book. Too many other great books to waste time here.

    Series: The Brides of Destiny#2
    Review:

"Lana's Lawman" by Karen Leabo a good contemporary romance read about second chances and the second in 'The Brides of Destiny.' This read was of two (Lana and Sloan) people who had been love for around three weeks during their senior year but that soon ended and each when on there many ways until ten years later. Now, we find that Lana is divorced from Bart, her cheating husband and has a eight year old son and struggles daily to get by taking care of her son (Rob) and doing all of this while getting her college education. On her way to her friend, Callie's wedding Lana has a accident and she ends up in a ditch and this is where Sloan Bennett enters back in to her life. Lana finds out he is now a police officer. A lots has changed from Sloan's 'bad boy' days. What will happen as we see that these two people still love each other but will have a hard time trying to work out those feelings to each other. This is where I say you must pick up "Lana's Lawman" to read the outcome of it all. The characters were all very well developed that gave the reader an interesting drama and also giving you a well written novel that I would recommend as a good read.

    Definitely check it out

This is the first of a series that I got a kick out of. Karen writes exactly how women think even though as a reader I wish the protagonists would get their heads out of their asses sooner. Good read.
