Not as good as the first. I loved Eon, and this was a Great Foll

Not as good as the first.
I loved Eon, and this was a Great Follow-up to it. but It was a little too removed from humanity for my liking. And the ending (spoiler Alert !! ) not really an ending in the sense that the third book just "really" ties to it.

    more from this reviewer

    A Science-Fiction Thriller.

Fans of the genre will rejoice at Greg Bear's novel, Legacy, combining a tasteful amount of science-fiction with copious amounts of mystery and action. The novels lead role, Olmy, finds himself in a strange new world reminiscent of Earth, with key differences. As he travels through this strange planet, cataloging not only his peers but the ecology around him for his patron government, realizes the fallacy of technology and embraces the perceived primitive practices of the inhabitants of this strange planet. Bear masterfully depicts the moral and political dilemmas that surround technological innovation and its effects on the world around us, creating not only a thrilling novel, but ample food for thought in age where we face similar moral dilemmas.

    Really good book!

This is a really good book. It involves Olmy if you're familiar with Eon. This is like a frontier SF book. It is really cool because Olmy goes to this world on the Way where some of the people of Thistledown ran away to. It's very interesting because it has to do with the lifeforms of the planet, called Ecois. It has to do with people's way of doing things back in more primivated times.

    A TRIP BACK IN TIME

This compelling prelude to 'Eon' led Olmy Ap Sennon to a place that was somewhat familiar to our world....Just without the green.Olmy meets new people and eventually finds love in the most unlikely places. The way Bear wrote this book is at the utmost standard of excellency.2 BIG thumbs up!
