It is one of those books that pulls you in right at the beinning, and just flows from fast to full speed. I warmed to the characters right away.

Ok book, not my favorite by this author.

I found this book somewhat disappointing. I have read several books by Donna Kauffman and I liked the Black Sheep and Chisholm brothers books much better. This book was very slow to get started, the plot seemed confusing and unbelievable at times. I did like the two main characters and found their romance sweet and touching in spite of the less than believable storyline. I have read "spy" novels by other authors and this one just doesn't measure up. If you like this author, pick another book; if you like spy novels, pick another author.

What can happen to the agent who gets out of the game!

I finished Let Me In last night and couldn't put it down 'till I was done. It was wonderful, I really enjoyed the book. Both characters, Tate and Derek, were interesting, well developed, empathetic and I just adored both of them. CJ's character was brilliant, as a contrast to who Tate might have become, making Tate's story even more compelling. One rarely reads about the agent who got out of the game. There was a steadily building suspense through the book, even though there was not a lot of actual action, which is fine by me. The focus was clearly more on what the characters were feeling and thinking, their problem solving for both their internal and external challenges, rather than a lot of frantic action, yet it did hold the suspense. Also, it was not rife with dead bodies. I loved the Epilogue.it satisfied me. The whole hotel scene with Derek's fake mustache and wig and stuff, it was in character and fun. It brought you back emotionally after the seriousness of the denouement. You nicely crafted the technical solution to the dilemma, the media and attorney general, along with the video tape of Mank, all said in a few short sentences. Very tight and well crafted storyline. And the banter was just plain fun, especially the closing of the epilogue. I really, really liked and enjoyed this book. Well done! Yeah. Another special book for my Donna Kauffman shelf!

This is an exciting romantic suspense thriller

Former covert operative Tate Winslow is placed in the witness protection program where her new identity is novelist Tara Wingate residing in Hebron Valley, Virginia. She wants nothing to do with her past having witnessed her partner CJ shot dead. However, her former boss at the agency Derek Cole arrives insisting CJ is alive and needs their help.

She has problems with Derek¿s claim as she saw CJ killed, which is why she left the guns behind her three years ago. Derek explains the agency refuses to rescue an agent in trouble so he has gone rogue in order to save CJ. Each tries to ignore the attraction between them. However, both Tara and Derek question whether saving CJ is wise as each wonders if he could be a traitor betraying his country as a double agent.

This is an exciting romantic suspense thriller from the moment Derek comes back into Tara¿s life. The story line is fast-paced, but the action is overwhelmed by the second chance romance between the former agent and the rogue operative. Fans will wonder whether CJ is alive and if yes is he a traitor?
