    Good read

Abby Coopy is a clairvoyant private eye. When she gets a visit from a heavily disguised attorney who won't tell her who, or what, or even when, just that someone's in danger, Abby can't resist. With the help of her PI partner and friend, they discover there is a missing person and, in fact, two of them. The case is actually a sanity saver for Abby as her strong willed sister, Cat, has taken over the wedding plans for Abby - whether she wants Cat to or not.

The Psychic Element Sucks Me In

I love this series. Laurie writes a great mystery and I the psychic elements really sucks me in. That being said, Abby was really annoying in this book. She was incredible cranky (Full Disclosure—She was recovering from a broken pelvis) and complained a lot. I do however like that she is getting back to doing psychic readings for civilian clientele.

    love this series!

I am so glad that the author is continuing her series and that she has moved away from the last book's storyline. I didn't care much for that one, but this one is back to who Abby and Dutch are along with the supporting characters and of course my fave-Eggy. Hope that she keeps with this vein vs. Vision Impossible's storyline. Victoria Laurie is an awesome writer and can't wait for the next book to come out!

Another fabulous mystery from the super-talented Victoria Laurie

Another fabulous mystery from the super-talented Victoria Laurie!

Psychic intuitive Abby Cooper is enjoying life in her new home of Austin, Texas. She and her fiancé Dutch are preparing for their wedding and the completion of construction on their dream home... if Abby would just give her opinions to the wedding planner, her sister Cat, and home builder, her friend Dave. Her last adventure (in Vision Impossible) has left her recovering from a broken pelvis so she hobbles away from decision-making as quickly as possible to the new office she shares with her BFF, private investigator Candice Fusco. The mystery begins with an intriguing set-up. A client vaguely refers to a crime that, as a lawyer, she can't really talk about, but asks Abby to investigate using her psychic abilities. Candice and Abby watch the news and quickly realize two things. First, the crime the lawyer was referring to involves a young mother who has gone missing. And second, they must investigate the crime and find out what happened to her.

The plot races along with new questions, suspects and motives popping up around every corner. Abby has many things on her plate (a consultation with the Austin branch of the FBI, the upcoming wedding, construction on her new house, psychic appointments for clients, this new case to solve) all while nursing her physical recovery. After all, what bride wants to walk down the aisle with a bouquet in one hand and a cane in the other? The subplots are deftly woven into the story and each has its own satisfactory conclusion. As for the missing woman and the culprit behind her disappearance, I was guessing until the very end. This was a page-turner.

I can't say enough good things about the wonderful character Ms. Laurie has created in Abby Cooper. She's headstrong, smart, witty. At the same time she has her faults, but they only serve to make the character more believable and sympathetic. I love Abby from her creative swearing and addiction to junk food to her caring nature and sense of adventure. The author is laugh-out-loud funny and uses humor to balance the tone of the dark crimes the characters uncover. Some reviews have been hard on Abby's behavior in this book, but I found nothing about her character "out of character." Yes, she runs from her sister who is only trying to help her get married, she runs from the guy building her dream home, she's enraged at her boyfriend's engagement present (you'll see...), and she uses her temporary disability to her advantage. You know what? I wouldn't expect anything less from Abby. The character has grown throughout the course of the series, but the author never has her do things that are out of character. I applaud her for that. And in the end, Abby's shortcomings make her more real and relatable. Her vulnerabilities make me cheer her on even more.

This is an excellent series! My sister and parents also read this authors books. The characters are great and an enjoyable read. The author keeps the story interesting and there are changes that make the story interesting without ruining the things you enjoy about the characters and their "lives". Very good books!

    Excellent Read

As I've come to expect from Victoria Lauries Psychic Eye Series, this one is very well written and plotted. It also makes sense from beginning to end and the surprises are well placed.
