    Good Read

Not one of my fave EJD books, but still a good read. Would recommend if you're an EJD fan.

    Great beach read

With the long waits at the airport these days I bought this book to pass the time while going to my beach destination. It did not disappoint. I found this book entertaining and not requiring much thought...perfect for resting the brain cells while on vacation. I could not stop reading while in the hotel as well, wanting to see how the drama would unfold. I was reminded of the guilty pleasure of watching reality TV...yes the characters were flawed but they were oh sooo endearing. The writing style was a bit simplistic with a few slang terms thrown in for that urban flair. Mr Dickey did not waste time with flowery descriptions of people and locales..he put more effort into the subtle twists of the messy drama that kept his readers at the edge of their coach class seats. Yes, this was a good, satisfying read ..I would recommend it to anyone who wants to feel their own romantic situation ain't so bad.

    JUST OK

THIS IS MY 4TH READ FROM EJD.I THOUGHT THE BOOK WAS JUST OK. LIKE THE PREVIOUS READER, IT LEFT ME WITH UNANSWERED QUESTIONS. WHAT HAPPENED AFTER MALAIKA TOLD KWANZAA ABOUT HER FATHER? WHAT HAPPENED WITH VINCE AND DANA?

    Wasn't what I expected.

I've read all of EJD's books, and I have to say, I was a little disapointed in this one. It took me longer than 2 days to read it. I thought it was very slow and drawn out. My favorite is Friends and Lovers... Please do a sequel to it. Keep up the good work and I hope the next one is as good as F&L.....or better.

A Nice Beach Read, but Not Much More

An entertaining novel written in the style of his other books. The story line was disappointing and character development was non-existent. It's time for Mr. Dickey, who I think has the potential to be a good writer, to move from where he has been for the last four books to a real novelist.
