    This series rocks!!

From page 1of book 1, I was totally hooked. The characters are very diverse, but at some point you empathize with almost all of them. I went from one book to the next as fast as possible, and am impatiently awaiting the next one. I read a lot of post-apocalyptic series, but this is by far the best. The story flows well, while not giving away the next move. Truly a favorite!

    I Also Recommend:

Review of Life After War, The Survivor's, a New 2012 Novel by Angela White.

The opening lines of this book are attention getting.
"The sound of the ocean haunts me. It's tiny, angry whirlpools warn, threaten, and fear weighs heavily in my heart."
The next sentence introduces and gives a strong tug on your imagination.
"My name is Angela. I'm a Doctor, Mother, Witch, and now, in the year 2017, I've become a Leader of man."
With the third set, I had to read this book.
" Surrounded by carefully watching guards, I sit beside the immense Pacific ocean as my people work and play nearby, confident my Army will look after them while I tell you about the War of 2012 and how we were forced to leave our beloved Country behind in order to survive. "

The prologue is short and sweet, giving a clear picture that there was a global disaster and the Leader of the survivors is a female with special abilities. The cause of the war is very believable and within a few pages, the reader has been shown what happened, who is to blame, and has met the main characters, who have been left in life threatening situation that demand we continue on to find out how they survived.
The story flows into the past, to the weeks after the war and from there, tells of seven incredible journeys that include: Bridges collapsing while being crossed, a battered wife setting out to find her missing son, tidal waves, flooding, rioting, shootouts, and a number of other adventures that enable these average refugees to go from weak to strong while they travel. Learning how to defend themselves and watch out for each other, along with American spirit, is the theme of this book, and yet, there's so much more!
A great romance, a secret love child and their reunion. A refugee camp called Safe Haven, where the Leader is adored, followed eagerly, and keeping a huge secret that might have stopped the war. A Stormchaser with a government pass to NORAD is taken hostage and escapes,(Violently) due to being able to predict bad weather coming, and did I mention the Bad guys? These survivors have banded together and must now face another lethal threat from a large group of Guerilla's that have invaded the US and begun stalking them, determined to stop the United States from recovering.
It's a wonderful story and more than worth the read and Book two, Adrian's Eagles, promises more of the same.

This rating would get more stars, but I was so disappointed that this is NOT new material, but a rehash of the earlier books in the series. The story is very good, but I want NEW story. I really feel cheated. The prologue gives a hint of what is to come but the rest of the book is a "repeat" and ends before the earlier books leave off. Oh, and before rushing to print, it would have been nice if someone had run a spell-check. Feel like I have been "had", very disappointed! Don't buy this book if you have read the earlier books in this series. BTW, love the series, just want something NEW that brings the story forward.

From the beginning of the series I was totally hooked.  Angela White has created incredibly in-depth characters and a plot line that is just possible enough to be terrifying and gripping.  I have read all of this series I can find and I WANT MORE!!!

Thought I was getting Book 3 only to find out that I just bought Book 1, which I have already read. Not enough info in the detail that this is Book 1. I don't appreciate paying for a book twice. Would love a refund, but ebooks aren't refundable.

    Highly Recommended

I'm not sure how I got onto this series of books. It's a tale that is as yet incomplete in many ways, so I expect more books! Gripping tale of life in the US (as it were) in the years immediately after a nuclear holocaust caused by someone in the US. There really is a no-holds-barred clause...it gets a bit stomach-churning from time to time. That said, as I mentioned above, the story is utterly gripping, and I highly recommend it.

Couldn't get past the first few pages.

Story might be ok, but trying to get past the wall of text and misspellings was not worth it.
