She just went for it!
I really love this story of how you can turn something so traumatic into something so wonderful. Making changes in your life is hard for so many people...yet she has not problem! I love it!

Fit This Book Into Your Life!
Andrea comes home from a conference excited about her upcoming engagement 0nly to be told by her boyfriend that not only does he not want to marry her, but that he doesn't want to be with her at all. Andrea is shocked and experiences a whole array of emotions, from denial, anger, bargaining (if I do this, then he will come back), depression, then acceptance. Actually, Elizabeth Kubler-Ross would be quite correct that people when she said: "the most beautiful people I've known are those who have known trials, have known struggles, have known loss, and have found their way out of the depths." Elisabeth Kübler-Ross
Okay, so Andrea is not a real person, nor is she someone dealing with the death of a loved one, but in this fictional story she experiences the death of a dream to be married to her life long boyfriend and be quite content being everything he wants her to be. It is not until she is alone that she gets to know herself and discover her strengths and beauty is by being true to herself and embracing her passions and dreams.
Throughout the book, I found myself getting irritated with Andrea as she tried to do everything in reverse in hopes of winning Alex back and really did not like Alex at all. I couldn't understand how an educated woman could be so needy and unsure of who she is..however, that was the beauty of this book. It will bring out emotions in the reader and challenge the reader to ask, "am I following my passions and dreams?". I liked that the storyline and characters challenged me to think beyond the storyline, had me feel anger and happiness as I learned about each character, and that in the end, Andrea certainly finds what and who fits best in her life.
Be aware, this is a chick-lit book. It's not meant to be spiritual or a deep thinking book. However, I love that this book does not scream sex or is too fluffy. I love how Heather Wardell brings everything together, especially since there is such a large cast of characters and quite a lot going on in the book. In honor of Andrea, I think I will go and paint my nails teal!!1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

Another winner by Wardell
Heather Wardell has the distinction of being the only author I've emailed to ask if she has any new books for me to read. And, wonder of wonders, she wrote me back! I've read and loved all of Heather's previous books, so I was thrilled to hear that A Life That Fits was ready for me to dive into.

Every time I sit down to read one of Heather's books, I am completely engrossed. Everything in my world stops when I start reading one of her books. That feeling of total immersion happens so rarely for me now, that I really enjoy it when I do feel that way about a book.
My favorite thing about Wardell's work is her characterization. I relate so well to her heroines, I feel like I'm reading about myself or someone who could be my friend. Her stories feature women who are struggling to balance it all: love, career, personal dreams, and family drama. Each story is different but some of themes are similar. Her books are women's fiction without being full of bedroom scenes. I really don't like it when romance authors substitute relationship development with sex scenes. I want to know why two characters are in love, and read about them falling in love, not just falling into bed with each other.
I sped through A Life That Fits in one day because I just couldn't wait to find out how the story ended. I just had to know what happened with Andrea and Alex. And I was 100% happy with the conclusion. I closed my Nook cover feeling totally satisfied, with my only complaint being that the book was over. It was a great ride, and now I'm on pins and needles until Wardell's next book come out. -

I really loved it!
This was another fanrastic book by H.W! I couldn't wait to find out how it would end, and at the sametime didn't want it to end! (Only disappointment was there were many missing words throughout.. if they can fix that... 5 + stars)

Missing words!
Would have been more enjoyable if there hadn't been so many missing words! I wanted to read a book, not play Mad Libs!

A wonderful story!
I loved this book! I have been a fan of Heather Wardell since I came across Life, Love And A Polar Bear Tattoo when I first purchased my nook. This book was well developed, and you really feel for Andrea as you watch her struggle with the sudden breakup with Alex. I felt myself becoming proud of her as she started to grow as a person (or character...however you want to word it!) throughout the book. Check Heather Wardell's books out-she is a very talented author!
