    I Also Recommend:

    Must Read! Highly Influential

I read the book lifes greatest lessons: 20 things i want my kids to know over christmas break and it was a book that had a great impact on me. This book teaches you 20 lessons that are key to succeeding in life. Each chapter has a specific topic, for example chapter 1: success is more than making money. For each topic, the author explains why he chose that specific subject and gives you some advice about that. What i liked about the book was how the author uses his personal experience in some situations and expresses his feelings to show the reader what it is like to be in that situation. Hal Urban also mentions quotes from other people and other books in each chapter which is confusing at first, but then you relate ceirtain quotes to the text and they make you understand better. Hal alsomentions that he did some reaserch on some advice he gave which makes it more accurate, believable and shows the reade that he has interest in his work. The book convays topics like success, choices in life, good habits, attitude, honesty and many other values that makes us good citizens.

I loved this book; it changed the way i think because of its great messages and lessons that made an impact on me. Like Rabbi Harold Kushner said " a wise and wonderful book, will enrichen anyone who reads it." I recomend this book to anyone from all ages, because it doesnt matter how old you are, it has great lessons that teaches us about life. I especially recomend this title to poeple who are trying to live life as best as they can and to people who are striving in becoming a better peron for the people that surround them and for themselves. I highly recomend this book to couples who have children since the book will help them teach their children to grow up, suceed in life and become a great person. I learned alot from this novel, that i try to remember the lessons learned and apply them to my life. Most importantly the book tought me that life is not how it is, its how we make it.

    Practical, common sense

This book provides the most practical, common sense approach to the things in life that matter most. I found this book very easy to read. It has definitely made me step back and re-evaluate my life. I am an educator and I am know recommending this book to others. This Christmas I have given two copies of the book to those who have had an impact on my life over the past year. The first copy is theirs to keep and I asked that they give the second copy to someone who has had a positive impact on their life. This is a life changing book!!!

    more from this reviewer

Rediscover the pearls of wisdom your Mom and Dad shared with you.

This is a well written book of "common sense." You will have heard much of this information before but not shared in Hal Urban's down home style. Hal uses down to earth language and this book is very readable for all levels. This is a great book to give to a young person going into high school and getting ready to graduate from high school.

Hal generously uses quality quotes from famous and not so famous people to demonstrate his points. I personally enjoyed and appreciated this element of his book.

Read this book, discover and rediscover many pearls of wisdom from "Life's Greatest Lessons."

You will enjoy and learn from this book

At the same time this book is instructive, it is also practical and inspiring. The lessons, experiences and other comments are presented in such a manner that their meaning is unquestionable. Their importance is revealed in a very natural and understandable manner. Many times, knowing facts and having culture is not enough. Putting them into practice is all that should matter and where the real difference is. This attitude is responsible for the effective changes people may need or desire to add to their living. I do believe that those who are grown up, as well as the teenagers, should benefit substantially from reading this book.
