As the publisher's notes mention, this book contains excellent material for the treatment of war and terrorism survivors. In fact, it is applicable to all trauma survivors where the therapist might be considering EMDR. It has one of the best reviews of the EMDR protocol to be found outside of Shapiro's own books. I have found the writing style to be accessible for lay people who are interested in EMDR as a possible treatment. In other reviews I have read, I have noticed that, in all the praise, what is overlooked frequently are the chapters are selecting and preparing mental health professionals for working in relief settings. I think these comments make the book useful even to those not considering the use of EMDR.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
