Did not like

I read this book for a book group. All of us agreed that we didn't like this book. The characters were not well developed. Save your money and look for another book.

    A Bit Sappy

I didn't expect the highly religious content and (nothing against religion), but I found it a bit sappy. Certainly, it tore at your heartstrings because it involved the custody of a child, but it was not my cup of tea.

Should be in the young adult section

The idea of the story fascinated me, but considering the somber topic and plot of the book, the tone lacked very much seriousness. The characters were almost completely one-dimensional, and all-in-all the story was extremely predictable. I was deterred by how much the author tied her strong religious beliefs into the book. It made it difficult to connect with the characters on a personal level, and it seemed like anything that happened in the story somehow ended up being about God.

Overall I have to say I might have enjoyed it when i was fourteen years old, but it was just lacking too much in depth and complexity to really appreciate.
