WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS BOOK, BUT IT DIDN'T LIVE UP TO MY EX

WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS BOOK, BUT IT DIDN'T LIVE UP TO MY EXPECTATIONS!!

Review brought to you by OBS staff member Annabell

I had been looking forward to reading this book, excited by the elemental aspects to the book but Lily in the Snow offered no winning qualities to me. There isn’t very much I can say about the book because honestly, I couldn’t get through it.

The book ended just as boring as the beginning. The characters were extremely underdeveloped and bland. I could appreciate the new and imaginative world the author was trying to create but the execution failed because of lack of details and good enough backstory to the characters. The plot was barely existent and I often had trouble following along. The pacing was dragged out and the dialogue was just as flat as the plot and made the story predictable. I couldn’t relate to any of the characters because I just couldn’t connect with how the characters in the various stories were acting. There just wasn’t a moment when I was reading that I felt immersed in the story.

Lily in the Snow was just not what I had expected and was too hard to get through to be enjoyable.

I do wish the author the best in the future with her other novels and I hope she is able to find a stronger voice as an author as well as better skill in executing her ideas.

    Highly Recommended- a must read!

This book was given to me as an advance read by Christine Schulze; thank you so much I feel privileged for having a chance to read this unique book. This book I believe was beautifully written with unique stories that will catch you by surprise, and will have you wanting to read more by Christine. I loved every story, the first was my favorite about a unique rock element finding love with an earth element, a love that was going to be hard to withstand for she could not live outside of her element and that she as beautiful as she was would be wanted for her crystals. You thought that both would have died of a broken heart because the two could not live without each other but in the end they are together and are married in the most beautifullest wedding ever with a hallow of flowers, a jewel that shows their life force, so it seems to glow and when one goes out you know that one will die. Micha's flowers have stopped blooming and is dying and Jewett will grant her dying wish...I won't tell the end because you, the reader need to read this unforgettable story for yourself to see what I mean. Each tale is like a unique fairy tale. Unique versions of couples finding love with each other and all the trials they must go through to be together and finding true happiness with one another or to be sadly loved from afar with hopes of one day meeting and being together. Each tale is beautifully woven with the reader never really knowing what was to happen next, you didn't know if the end would be happy or not, but worth reading for final outcome. I loved every story, and I hope you the next reader will take a chance on this book to find yourself lost in a world were you can say you have been through some of these stories yourself in some way or an other in love and in relationships. Beautifully written and will capture you, finding yourself craving for more, not wanting to put down.
