well-written!

I am just starting the third of three novels in this collection. They are the first three in the Mickey Haller series by this author. They are "page-turners!"

I have a rule about getting into a "series". I usually do not like books in a series because the author repeats details from previous books (assuming that this is your first exposure) and rehashing takes most of the book. When I saw that this e-book included three stories starting from #1 and that the author was Michael Connelly I decided to make the purchase. The stories were really gripping and the characters were well drawn and interesting. Yet, from one book to another there were details that were not included. For the first time I was left in the dark about certain things that happened to the recurring characters 'between books'. It was not until after I had finished the last book, THE REVERSAL, that I discovered one of the lead characters had his own series of books-Harry Bosch. I suspect that some of the lost details may be in this other series. Disappointing! Now, where do I look to see if there is a follow-up to an unsolved mystery in THE REVERSAL? Is it in the Bosch or Hallar books? And in which one? Or did the author forgot about it between series? I SWEAR OFF SERIES AGAIN.

    Great novels

The three Mickey Haller novels are great. Good character and plot development with just enough twists to keep the readers guessing. I'm hooked...on Mickey and Harry Bosch. I'm lookijg forward to more books in both series.
