William O. Stoddard Lincoln's White House Secretary
This edited autobiography failed to provide any new valuable insights about either Abraham Lincoln and wartime Washington. Stoddard's memoirs offered memorable insights and anecdotes to please Stoddard and his immediate family. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. I found Stoddard's edited memoirs by Harold Holzer to be uninteresting and tedious to read. I could not bring myself to finish reading, but to glance through the last several chapters.
I find in good conscience, I would be unable to recommend this book to anyone.
