    I Also Recommend:

One of the best in the Jim Chee, Joe Leaphorn series.

I have read almost all of the books in the Joe Leaphorn and Jim Chee series and this one was great. This is the 3rd book in the series and only features Joe Leaphorn. I think the plot and the twists thrown in along the way to Joe Leaphorn solving the mystery is the best of the first three books. If you read the books in the sequence they were written, you can see Tony Hillerman's development of the characters, plots, and his use of the Navajo Country setting.

One of the things that make this series great for me is that three of the books were made into movies. Everytime I read one of these, I picture Wes Studi and Adam Beach as the characters. If you enjoy these mysteries, then you should definately see the movies (Coyote Waits, Skinwalkers, and Thief of Time).
