A bit of a slog to get through
Barnaby continues to develop her protagonist, Brian, during his first year in San Diego. Because he's hell-bent on finding Jamie, he misses out (for a time) on the wonderful life he could be having. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. The slog of the book is all the introspection that Brian does. We almost spend too much inside his head with him. While this means we know him incredibly well, it is also tedious reading. But slog through it, because the twist at the end will cause your jaw to drop.
I'm still impressed with Barnaby's change of POV for the epilogue of each book, and I plan to finish reading the entire series because I've come to love Brian, too.
