Live Blood, Peter Gabriel’s latest orchestral foray, is unlikely to convert his skeptics or disappoint very many of his fans. Disc 1 contains several covers from his Scratch My Back project. Only Paul Simon’s Boy in the Bubble made an impression on me, causing me to wonder if that CD is worth buying. After PG turns exclusively to his own compositions, the concert improves. Disc 2 is the stronger of the CDs. Overall, it is enjoyable, but not revelatory. I think this set might be a little better than New Blood, his recent studio orchestra update of many of these songs. I’ll give it 3 ½ stars. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
