    Motivational

Motivational, inspiring. This was a good selection to read as I recovered from bilateral knee surgery.

    Joyful, joyful

    Live Your Joy
    Bonnie St. John

    Joyful, joyful.

As humans, we often mistake happiness for joy. Happiness is fleeting, but joy, real joy, is everlasting and there is no other feeling like it.

In Live Your Joy, Bonnie St. John encourages readers to examine themselves and their lives to determine what brings them joy and to recognize those things that have the capability of stealing that joy.

Bonnie St. John, a national motivational speaker, has lived a life most of us can only dream about. But she has also suffered in a way that many of us will never experience - she lost one of her legs at a very young age. Suffering such a fate would make even the strongest person want to throw in the towel and give up achieving major things in life. But not Bonnie! She turned her tragedy into triumph and despite the many obstacles she faced, she went on to achieve much success.

While reading Live Your Joy, I felt as if I were reading the author's autobiography and not really the instructional, yet inspirational, guide that I expected. St. John's life story is inspiring, and I am in awe of her accomplishments. The majority of the stories in this new book were familiar to me, thanks to her previous release, How Strong Women Pray. However, there were moments throughout this book that caused me to pause and reflect on various aspects of my own life -- both the joyful and the instances where I allowed my joy to be stolen. I was also persuaded to take steps to finally and fully experience the joy given to me.

However, there were moments throughout the book that caused me to pause and reflect on certain aspects of my own life; both the joyful and the instances where I allowed my joy to be stolen. My heart was also pricked and I was prompted to take steps to finally and fully experience the joy given to me.

Whether young or old, male or female, readers who take pleasure in reading uplifting, autobiographical stories will want to add this book to their collection.
