LIVE A LITTLE takes the pressure off
LIVE A LITTLE! takes the pressure off having to do it all perfectly, particulary in the area of health. Since women often feel like they have to do it all at home, at work and with family, their own health is often the last part of life they have time and energy to address. Was this review helpful? Drs. Susan Love and Alice Domar should be commended for encouraging women to be "healthy enough" without feeling like they will get a fatal disease if they don't exercise an hour every single day or if they do eat a "guilty pleasure" dessert now and then. Their sound advice reminds us that it is the accumulation of healthy habits that counts, not the daily scorecard. This advice counterbalances the abundance of magazine and website headlines touting new ways to lose pounds, exercise and check every part of one's body to ensure we don't get sick.
By following their suggestions on to get more speel or how often to have specific medical tests from breast exams to blood tests, for example, our concerns that we will be doomed to unhealthy lives in our old age if we skip even one step can be eased.
So this book can be a good gift for your mother, daughter, female relative or friend who worries about her health but has little time or energy to take radical steps to improve it. Readers will be inspired to take baby steps in their areas of interest which can make a huge difference according to these down-to-earth women doctors.

good book but not great
the book was informative although i do think some of the stuff mentioned we already knew (common sense). This would be a good gift for those people we know in our lives that are either way too careless about their health or those people who have gone off the deep end with being a health nut. Everyone else after reading the book will think "Oh i already knew that." This book is also geared more towrds women but informative. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
