    Emotional First-Hand Accounts

As I typed my mom's manuscript for this book, I found myself so intensly involved in her experience as a mother of a preemie that I had to leave and come back and finish it a day later! While I have heard my mom mention the intense months following my birth many times, reading it in such painstaking detail was a completely different experience. All of these stories take you into the various situations and describe, in heartfelt detail, the anxieties and triumps of parenting premature babies. If you or someone you know has gone through these experiences, you will find shades of your own thoughts, fears and concerns in these accounts, first--hand accounts from parents of premature babies. After I read it, I realized how lucky I was to have survived and help provide an example of an older preemie who made it--and now babies much smaller than I was are being saved every day. With books such as this one, parents of preemies can find their own stories echoed and take comfort in the fact that others have gone through similiar trials. This collection, with its intimate, excruciating, and finally triumphant stories are a means of hope for parents who are going through a similiar experience and need guidance, not to mention a wonderful keepsake for the preemies themselves!!

I wish I had this resource when our son was born...

As the contributor of one of the stories in this book, I've been anxiously awaiting its arrival since I wrote the story. There's also no 'pocket padding' here in plugging this book since I receive nothing but intense pride for my contribution. The purpose of this book is not to make money (although more sales would allow more to be printed). The purpose of this book is to give hope to parents and family when they believe there is none to be had. This book definitely meets that criteria. From front to back, the stories are jam-packed with the full gamut of emotions, all of which we felt when Zak (Chigger) was born. So buy the book and read the stories, keeping some Kleenex handy. You won't regret it. And if you're touched by them as much as others, get an extra copy for your local NICU, ICU, pediatric office, school, parent of a preemie child, or whatever. Let others know there is always hope.

Insight into the Journey of Prematurity

Excellent! Excellent! Have the tissues handy! I only wish this book had been around when my daughter was born prematurely 4 years ago. Thank you for sharing your wonderful stories of hope and courage.
