    Excellent Historical Fiction

All of Elmer Kelton's books are a marvelous blend of authentic history, realistic characters, and honest action written in a smooth, flowing style that immerses you in the unfolding tale. This volume contains the first three novels in a series about the Texas Rangers. When you finish this book, you'll want to pick up the next three books in the series. Reading this book gives you the scent, flavor, and feel of old Texas and the harsh life of a Texas Ranger.

    Excellent storytelling

Well crafted stories. My only complaint is the author sometime reminds the reader too often what has already transpired. If it is from another volume, this can be useful, but often it is from the same book. But this is a very minor complaint because i thoroughly enjoyed these stories.

The first 3 books for $2.99! A MUST purchase!

You will not put this book down, and you will not rest until you've read them all! I bought this book because it was only $2.99. I just finished book 7 and I thirst for more.
