Not formatted for ebook readers
This guide is very useful in print fomat, but is almost completely unusable in ebook format. Pages load slowly on my nook color and ipad, pictures and maps are only partially displayed, and it frequently will not advance between sections. I highly recommend sticking to the printed guidebook.

I can confirm the nook version is a waste
Unable to flip past page three. I have to navigate to pages via table of contents and not all regions are accessible this way too. Often the book crashes and send me back to nook library screen and doesn't remember recent page. I bought this because I liked the hard copy so much, but the nook version is a complete disappointment.

Faulty software
This book keeps freezing up and i get a message that the "software is not responding". Touching chapter titles often causes a crash. I can page thru some sections but then get a blank page and it will only page back thru that one section (perhaps 8 - 10 pages) tops. Go to doesn't work at all, nor does page slide. Have archived and reloaded, also B&N rep tried reregistering my nook. We then used a store demo nook tablet with same results. Another book with chinese characters works fine; ditto a different Shanghai travel guide with photos. It's definitely the book! A pity as the content i can read is excellent.

Not useful
Although the book appears to include Chinese characters for place names and addresses, they do not display, which is a real drag. No way to show a cab driver the Chinese address. Not all maps display fully either. Convenience of e version not worth the inconveniences.
