Good storyline with a godly, Christian perspective

God, trust, hope and love undergird this story. It provides encouragement and belief in God's plan-holy and best-for our lives.

In the quiet safety of the Bluebird Ranch, old promises resurface and unexpected love brings new hope. Though tragedy has wrecked her life, Allie Siders holds on to the hope that her five-year-old daughter, Betsy, will speak again. But with a stalker out for revenge, all Allie can think about now is their safety. She must sever all ties and abandon life as she knows it. She heads to the peaceful Bluebird Ranch, nestled deep in Texas hill country, and to the only person who can help them. The ranch is a sanctuary for abused horses, and also for troubled youths: the perfect place for Betsy to grow and recover. Ranch owner Elijah DeAngelo eagerly welcomes the duo. But Rick Bailey-the ranch foreman and DeAngelo's right hand man-hasn't decided to let his guard down . . . yet. Promises made long ago soon force Rick and Allie to work together to escape danger. Will they discover love along the way? My Review - This book was pretty good. I don't know what I was expecting from it when I first started reading it. I got this book on my Nook (Herbie) back in February for free and I hadn't thought much about it. But it was good. I loved the story of Allie and Rick and Elijah for that matter. Betsy was cool too. I figured out some of the details before they were revealed but some I didn't have a clue about. And I was definitely wrong about the person who was after Allie. I will be reading the next book in the series but it probably won't be the next book I read, just cause I have so many other books on my Nook to read already.

I like the way Colleen Coble puts together a compelling story that is clean and full of good values without preaching. It had good progression and enough tension to keep me turning pages. The characters were well developed and had forward motion. There were enough suspects to keep you guessing from time to time.

    I will read another.

Lonestar Sanctuary is a great book for anyone interested in suspenseful romance novels. Colleen Coble does an excellent job of vividly creating a beautiful southern atmosphere. Her book takes you on a journey with a young girl who has lost almost everything and must find shelter at the Bluebird Ranch for help. Enduring a hard test of faith she will risk everything she has to protect her daughter from the stalker who is threatening their lives. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a suspenseful book. Coble does an excellent job exemplifying the commitment between two friends and the extraordinary measures one friend will take to protect the other. She shows how one mother's love is willing to fight through the darkest of storms. One of the best features of this book is that it is completely unpredictable. The reader will question the identity of the murderer throughout the entire book. Lonestar Sanctuary will keep you on the edge of your seat and you will not want to put it down.

Fall In Love With BlueBird Ranch

This is one of those books that will warm your heart. Allie, a rodeo star and her daughter Betsy move from the rodeo after a series of threats toward Allie. They go to Bluebird Ranch where Eli her grandfather helps children with problems. That is where she meets Rick, her dead husband's best friend. The Ranch is also a place for abused horses. She is haired as a house hand. So Allie is finally with family but the killer is still after her and even worse her late husbands parents are after Betsy. Rick willingly takes charge and does everything to help the family that he becomes part of. Truly a heartwarming story and I loved every word of it. Lone Star Sanctuary is very inspiring and teaches you that there are good people out there if you learn to trust.

    A First Timer...

This is the first time I have read anything by this author (or even from this genre). Even though I figured out the answer to the mystery fairly quickly the book still had good suspense and good character dynamics. I only wish there would have been more back story (unless this is not "book 1"). It seemed like the book started on chapter 2 or 3 and it took some catching up before I really got into it. I am intrigued enough that I will read another of her books.
