AP World History Book Review *** The Longest Night, written by Gavin Mortimer, was an interesting novel describing the details of the bombings in London England, occurring in London. The novel was both fiction and nonfiction, describing the perspectives of people involved in the horrifying battle, and dramatizing the events by adding a fictional reference of soldiers of both Britain and Germany, as well as fictional witnesses to the event. But in my opinion, I would say that it lacked a bit for me. It did not provide enough detail as many would like. That would be my only problem with this novel. It is a very interesting, gripping story, with an excellent story-line. This novel really explains the harshness of warfare to the average person, and really gives a superb perspective of warfare itself. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
