Having casually followed Simon's career for many years, this is the first CD of his I have purchased. I was afraid I would be too critical and compare him to his brother, Pete, but after listening to this CD, I am impressed. Sure, he sounds like his brother at times but the sound and style is all Simon. I could say that the music is like gentle waves lapping at your feet and turning to a thunderous tsunami for your senses , revealing gems of Townshend treasure to enrich your spirit but that seems a tad Ken Russell-esque so let me say that the music is varied, soulful, sung with emotion, and catchy. I've been humming Looking Out Looking In and Bed of Roses quite a bit. Something New, There's A Girl and Electric Friend are great as well; soundtracks for life.I hear there is a new CD due out in the spring and I plan to get that one as well as hope that the solo tour for it will include Minnesota (hint, hint). Well done, Simon!
