Lord of the Hunt (Court of Annwyn #2) by Shona Husk

Taryn is a Fae raised in the human world. She crossed to Annwyn in hopes of negotiating a pardon for her exiled parents from the King.

Verden, Lord of the Hunt, is instantly attracted to Taryn.  His loyalty is sworn to the King, but he finds himself conflicted, wanting to help Taryn.

Taryn is a great character.  Her personality and values are so different from those of the Fae court that it makes a fascinating story.  She loves her parents and is willing to do anything for them.  She finds herself attracted to Verden but knows she cannot show interest in him, or she risks losing the King’s favor.

Verden worked his way through the court to become the King’s right-hand man/Fae.  As the court Enforcer, he has existed his life showing no emotion.  Any sign of weakness is a risk at court.
I like that Verden found his time alone with Taryn refreshing. He could let his guard down around her and be himself.
I appreciate that Verden helps Taryn with court politics.  In return, Taryn makes Verden reevaluate his priorities and what is important in life.

Shona Husk does an exceptional job describing Annwyn.  She created a beautiful world that captured my imagination.
The plot was exceptional.  The story was creative with mystery and suspense.  Lord of the Hunt is truly magical. I look forward to reading Prince Felan story To Love a King (Court of Annwyn #3).
