The Ascension series is still going strong with book five. The story line is fantastic, and the details of the places that Ms. Reine takes us to in her books are things that I could never begin to imagine myself. The scenes are described so well that it is not hard to picture everything in my mind as I’m reading. This is a must read if you like urban fantasy, but I do recommend that you read the series in order.

Elise Kavanagh continues to release the slaves that are still in Dis, but it is more time consuming that she thought it would be. She hasn’t even noticed that things have gotten out of control on Earth until she is told that more than three thousand people are missing with no sign of when or how they disappeared. She’s received a long list of names and an extreme amount of money in her business account. She has no idea who is giving them to her, but she also knows that she cannot just walk away without finding out what is happening to all of these people.

Meanwhile, Rylie Gresham is having problems with her werewolf pack. Most of them are rebelling against her authority, and the trouble seems to be stemming from the cult that has taken over the town of Northgate. Abel realizes how dangerous things are becoming and decides that in order to protect Rylie he may have to override her decision and take control. As Elise and Rylie realize it’s a lot bigger than either one of them thought since they may be fighting the same enemy, they also realize this could be the end everything.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

    Keeps you hanging on

SM Reine keeps Elise & the gang busy in this book. The whole series is entertaining and gets better with each one. Her writing has improved greatly since starting the first book in the Descent series where I first was introduced to Elise & SM Reine as the Series first 3 books were free. The Ascension Series carries on Elise's story & I look forward to each & every book. I do wish that they were longer though.

Once you start the Descent series from the beginning and work your way through Ascend series, you just find yourself jonesing for the next part of the story. Great writing, excellent novels.

    Love

Love this series love how some things get better while others get worse. Cant wait to find out who Marion is is she elise's daughter, sister or cousin? Love that James and Elise are getting along wish he would get over the fact that the she isnt human and just ecept her already and realize that even though she is a demon she is still trying to do the right thing. I kinda expected Abram to be able to open eden but doesnt or wouldnt that mean that seth is or was his father. Cant wait for the next book.

Loved it! PLOT SPOILER BELOW (somewhat)

    •{SOMEWHAT OF A PLOT SPOILER BELOW!!!}•

Another great book from this author, but it didn't have any hot sex scenes in this one :-( Thats something I had grown to like in these series with Elise, especially when it's between her and James. But at least those two are getting along in this book.
I want them to get together as a couple so badly and live happily ever after.. and also fighting to save the world as a happy couple :-)
