Even though the book is a little different than the movie, having more details concerning the characters, events and the ending. Marty's husband Clem just died. While she's mourning, a man name Clark Davis asks her of something: they marry and Marty can be a mom for his daughter name Missie. At first Marty isn't sure. But with the upcoming winter season approaching she agrees. Slowly Marty gets used to her new life with her new husband and daughter. A quick but good read that was nice and liked how patient and understanding Clark was to Marty. The ending to the book and movie may be different but I like them both. Makes me want to see the movie again.

    Great Book for young girls

This is a great book for young girls, who are old enough for a love story but to young for romance novels. It is a sweet, Christian book, that I and my daughters have enjoyed. It is not like the movie, and of course the books are better than the movies, althought I love the movies on a rainy day.

    Cute

At first when I was reading the story, I was a little bored, because its writing is so much simpler than I'm used to. But as I got into it and began sympathizing with the characters... I don't know. I got to the last page and thought, 'That was a really cute book.' :)

    A Good Relaxing Read....

This book was well written and by the time Marty and Clark realized they were in love I was cheering out loud. I own this book and have read several times. I do think it is one of Mrs. Oke's best books second only to A Gown of Spanish Lace.
