Had to read this one!

I read the first one as an english assignment and I just fell in love with it. I searched up the book and I saw that there was a second book! I bought it and read it so fast my parents love boasting about it. I fell in love with Stargirl and wanted to be as unique as her. That boy she had a crush on was so cute, mysterious, and dreamy I wish I met someone like him.

The actual book is a nice product with a nice cover, binding and dust jacket. However, if you fell in love with Stargirl in the first book... and loved Leo's romance with her don't read the sequel... it's the movie series that kills off all your favorite characters or turns them into wackos to keep a story going... this sequel really squashes all the good of the first book.

Stargirl betrays her own self and her own feelings... far from the stand alone she was in the first book... she's a watered down turned floozy Stargirl... this is NOT a sweet love conquers all book about our two much loved star crossed characters... Spinelli built a wonderful world between Leo and Stargirl in book one... book two he throws it all out the window and expects the reader to still care... wish I hadn't read it!

I don't love Stargirl... any more!

    Missing Stargirl

I miss the old Stargirl. This one seemed so unsure of herself, and so....normal. It ruined the first book for me. Besides that I felt embarrassed for Stargirl beacuse she was moping for Leo all the time. It was just sad. I recommend it to those who have read Stargirl, but only for the information. Dootsie is hilarious!

    Should I get it?

The first book was amazing. But the reviews for the second one are not good. To buy or not?

I Read the Sequel Too Late

I always wanted to get Stargirl's side of the story, but when I finally did, it didn't excite me as much as I thought it would. Perhaps it's because it has been a few years, and I'm no longer the young girl who read the first book. In this book, we follow Stargirl's progress through life afterward and this does, at least, make Stargirl more human and less caricatured. However the other characters feel like stock: Perry the bad boy who has a reason for being how he is, Dootsie the cute little kid (who, in fairness, was one of my favorites), and Alvina the tomboy who secretly seems to want to be less of a tomboy.

This book is a fun summer read, and maybe younger girls can relate to a lot of Stargirl's feelings, but it's not the book for me anymore.

It Was a Bit of a Disappoinment

I absolutely loved the first book. It was amazing. This one left me some what disappointed. Jerry Spinelli has to add a third book to this series to please me. The second didn't give the same sort of thrill that the first gave. It was a let down. The information was ok, but there wasn't enough about Leo. He wasn't even there. That was strange to me. But everyone has different views and I bet some liked it. I just hope he writes a second one.
