I stumbled upon this author and I am soooo glad I did. What a jewel of a regency novel. This author has a magnificent grasp of the politicical and socio-cultural history of the Regency. She even uses antique spelling but does it in a way which is organic and not fake. Her characters have back stories, therefore they are not one dimensional or flat. Her female characters are smart and capable and her male characters are charming. I bought all of her Regencies. I wish she would write Regencies again!

This novel is about twins Jean and Maggie Conway, cousins of the Earl of Clanross. This novel is about them coming of age in post Napoleonic Brittain, at a time when Prinny is about to ascend the throne. England is undergoing some social and cultural upheaval as the debut is postponed but the twins, young ladies ad they are becoming, get into trouble. Also, this novel fits in as an ongoing story to Lady Elizabeth's Comet and Bar Sinister.

I highly reccomend all of this authors Regency novels.
