Predictable Plot and Almost Primer Style Writing
Love by Secrets has a good, if predictable premise, but the heroine spends most of the story pining after a shallow man that she thinks penned the love notes that mysteriously appear in her recticule after every ball she attends. When she finally realizes who wrote the notes she switches her affections in the bat of an eye, which doesn't come across as believable at all! It seems the author wanted a quick wrap-up to the story and that left this reader unsatisfied. Additionally, the writing style doesn't flow well in many places and often reads like the primer's I read in first and second grade.
