Bravo! A must-read for fashion history enthusiasts.
Includes color reproductions of the original illustrations of 50-60 completely accessorized ensembles (including fabric swatches) from Lucille's 1905 fall collection. Perhaps one of the original "Look Books". Beautifully printed, painstakingly researched, it includes the fascinating story of Lady Duff Gordon, the powerhouse behind Lucille, and one of the "It Girls" of the early 20th century. There's an extensive bibliography that will point you in more directions than you can imagine. My only wish is that there was one of these for each of her collections (not to mention the other couturieres of the era.) A girl can dream, can't she? Kudos to Mendes and De La Haye.
P.S. Would love to know what Austin Scarlett thinks!
