    A must for dog lovers

I opened this book in the store and scanned the pages quickly with the sole intention of seeing how the author intoduced the talking dog. Before I knew it, I had read about 30 pages just standing there - I had to buy the book and then read it from the beginning. Charming, poignant and very, very funny!

    A reviewer

I picked this book up on a fluke, being a dog lover, and did not expect such hilarity. Reg the dog is utterly wonderful and surprisingly eloquent, and the scenes in the book are written in such a way that you can see them happening clearly in your mind's eye. I would highly recommend this book for anyone who's ever owned or loved a dog.

If you read this book, you're the lucky dog!

Dave Barker is broke, addicted to high stakes gambling, still grieving for his mother, naive, hopelessly honest, and an all around nice guy. Dave is easy pickings for manipulation by his greedy girlfriend and his gangster poker buddies. Lucky for him, he finds an abandoned 'gentleman of the canine persuasion' or Reg to his friends. How Dave discovers who and what is important to him, how he learns to stand up for himself, and how he becomes a lucky dog and finds true love is an amusing and wonderful story.
