Like Going to the Beach, Without Leaving the House

Many, many artists have tried to create this feeling for those who are stuck in a New England winter, in the Midwest, or who just have no funds for a beach vacation. Chesney really brings the feeling to life with his album "Lucky Old Sun."

As the Editorial Review mentions, this is not fun-in-the-sun music, but the type that is the soundtrack to dangling your toes in the water while you contemplate life at the end of a pier. Heartfelt lyrics like, "...watching the sun, like you disappear..." allow you to close your eyes and almost feel Chesney's own pain. On songs like "Keys in the Conch Shell" you can imagine yourself in a billowy sundress and sandals, lounging around Chesney's beach hut with a gentle ocean breeze blowing through the open windows.

This album successfully evokes the lazy beach feelings while showcasing Chesney's soothing, genuine voice. "Lucky Old Sun" is the best yet of the "new" Kenny Chesney sound (the Buffett-inspired one).
