    All day read

Once you start this book, you will not want to put it down. It always seems like everything is going to be explained on the next page. The way Chuck Palahniuk writes is full of detail and very descriptive. This book is definitely not meant for an easy Sunday morning read, you need to be in a good state of mind for this book. It took me a few days to read this but it was well worth it. I wish somebody would make this into a movie.

    Not Up to Par

Let me preface this by saying I loved Choke, Survivor, and Fight Club. Tom is one of my favorite authors because of his originality and in your face storytelling. But this book...just didn't measure up to any of his previous work. The characters were engaging for a period of time, but they all fell short. The story went nowhere and, in fact, it would be a stretch to call this a story.

    A delight but...

Refreshing and interesting are two words that fit well into the profile of Palahniuk´s books as they take us on a journey through the "realistic" side of the world. Realistic in sense that the characters feel real and taste real but in his latest product, their environment takes on a different turn. We travel with Carl and Helen as they fight literally to save the world. So, in a sense, it´s an apocalyptical novel. However, if you´re an avid reader and fan of Palahniuk´s work as a whole as I am then, sadly, this one would come in last on your favorite list. With such gems as Survivor, Invisible Monsters and Choke, this doesnt live up to its expectations.
